After being named the new varsity football coach at Walkersville High School, Tyler Thompson is this week's guest on The Final Score podcast.

Thompson chats with host Greg Swatek about his new job and how the hiring process unfolded. After serving as the defensive coordinator under former coach Joe Polce for the last five years, he talks about why he was ready to take this step and the expectations he has for the program going forward.

The conversation extends back to Thompson's playing days at Linganore, where he won a state championship on arguably the best football team Frederick County has ever seen back in 2009, and how he got his start into coaching.
